Install openEuler on x86_64
The quick path for x86_64 servers: media, installer decisions, first-boot checks. ARM boards are covered in Install on ARM/AArch64.
1. Get the media
Section titled “1. Get the media”The official repo tree publishes per-version media: under openEuler-24.03-LTS-SP4/ISO/x86_64/ you’ll find the standard DVD, a netinst image and the everything DVD, each with a same-named .sha256sum. Fetch and verify per Download and verify.
2. Installer decisions
Section titled “2. Installer decisions”The installer is Anaconda-based; four decisions matter for servers:
- Software set — start minimal, add groups when needed;
- Disk — the automatic layout (xfs + LVM) fits most cases; custom-partition only for dedicated data disks;
- Network — enable the interface in the installer and pin a static address for servers;
- Accounts — set the root password and create a wheel-group admin for daily use.
3. First-boot checks
Section titled “3. First-boot checks”cat /etc/openEuler-releasesystemctl --failedConfirm the release identity and that no services failed, then run the minimal checklist from Operations and monitoring.
Where to read next
Section titled “Where to read next”Before installing, pick a mirror and verify the medium (Download and verify); after first boot, configure repositories per Repo structure. The upstream docs center carries the full installation guide.
